Sovus Radio has garnered some much deserved attention since the win.

The guys performed at the ASCAP showcase at Smith's Olde Bar in early December. Later that month, Sovus Radio was featured on the 2005 99X Holiday CD.

They've picked up management, and are heading into the studio with Grammy winning producer Don McCollister.

Sovus Radio recently landed on the cover of Performer Magazine.

Avenge Vegas has blasted into the spotlight since their win.

Creative Loafing featured the band in September 2004. Then in October, they were nominated for two Atlanta Music Guide Local Music Awards- "Best Front- Person/ Songwriter," and "Most Buzz- worthy Up and Coming Band."
Avenge Vegas just grabbed the prime local spot at Music Midtown 2005, performing on the 99X Locals Only Stage, between main-stage sets by "Interpol" and "The White Stripes".
In August they opened for "Garbage", on the final night of 99X's Downtown Rocks concert series.

The Whigs have been on fire since the big victory.

Creative Loafing proclaimed, in their "Best of Atlanta - 2003" issue, "We've seen the future of local rock and it's The Whigs." In December, The band performed at radio station Star 94's holiday concert, with "Maroon 5", "Jessica Simpson", "Sarah Mclachlan", and the "Barenaked Ladies". Creative Loafing has since featured the Whigs yet again, the headline pronouncing 2003 "The Year of the Whigs."

In April 2004, the band landed on Creative Loafing's list, "21 Southeastern Bands To Watch." In May 2004, the band performed at the Atlanta Music Midtown Festival, as well as on CBS's "Good Day Atlanta." In July, they performed at "Aquafina's On The Bricks" at Centennial Olympic Park, with "Los Lonely Boys" and "Fuel". In September, 2004, they were asked to play the 99X Upstart Festival, with "Franz Ferdinand", "The Killers", "The Scissor Sisters", and "The Futureheads". In October, they were chosen "Most Buzz- worthy Up and Coming Band" at the Atlanta Music Guide Local Music Awards. In November, they performed for the first time at the Tabernacle, with The Drive-By Truckers and the North Mississippi All-Stars. At the top of 2005, the band was featured in FADER magazine. In March, "the Whigs" gave their first performance at the South By Southwest Music Festival (SXSW), in Austin, Texas. In June, the band will headline the Outdoor stage at the Athens Music Festival (ATHFEST).

In November, they released "Give 'em All a Big Fat Lip" (their debut album). In March 2006, the guys returned to Austin for their second turn at SXSW. In April, Rolling Stone named the Whigs one of the "10 Artists to Watch" for 2006. Their summer tour begins in July, with stops at Summerfest, Hedgpeth Fest, Starfest, Voodoo Fest (Oct.) and more tba.

Bain and his band have been on a roll since the win.

He promptly secured management and a booking agent, then hit the road for non-stop touring.

He has since piled up virtually every music award in Georgia. In October 2003, he was voted by the critics Best Singer/Songwriter in Atlanta's Creative Loafing's "Best of Atlanta" issue. In October 2004, He was voted, this time by the fans, "Best Singer/ Songwriter", in Creative Loafing's "Best of Atlanta" issue. In the same month he was named "Best Front-Person/ Songwriter", at the Atlanta Music Guide Local Music Awards. In June 2004, he swept the Flagpole Athens Music Awards, taking home the trophies for "Best Rock Band", and "Best Singer/ Songwriter".

On the performance side, Bain has gone on to tour and/or share the stage with a plethora of artists, such as, "Better Than Ezra", "Hootie and the Blowfish", "Sister Hazel", "Jump, Little Children", "Drivin' n' Cryin'", "Liz Phair", "Tonic", etc. In addition, he's performed at Music Midtown, On the Bricks at Centennial Olympic Park, and on the CBS show, Good Day Atlanta.

Most recently, Bain rocked the sold out Tabernacle with "O.A.R." and "The Violent Femmes". In June 2006 he toured with "Edwin McCain", and in August he’ll hit the stage with "3 Doors Down".

The final song of the tournament sealed Bain's victory, and reduced us to tears!

Open Mic Madness is a single elimination music tournament taking place over six consecutive nights at Smith's Olde Bar, Atlanta, GA. It will feature over 120 acts performing original songs, with artists matching-up round by round with the performers next to them in their respective tournament bracket. The winner of each match-up will advance to the next round until only one remains. Judges will include music industry professionals.
Solo artists and bands up to 6 members are welcome.
It does not matter if your music is pop, heavy metal, folk, funk, whatever. It is not a problem if you have a drummer. As long as you write your own songs and have a singer to sing them, your sound will qualify.
This is a great chance for exposure at one of the best clubs in the Southeast, and a wonderful opportunity to perform in front of your peers and music industry professionals. For an entire week there is going to be an amazing amount of people who care about music in one place, at one time, under one roof.
