Rules of Madness.................................................
º	Single elimination. One song per round, head-to-head. Decision by a panel of judges. Winners progress to the next round. The initial tournament match-ups are determined by number of band members/overall fullness of sound, scheduling, genre, and an overall personal gut feeling. "While I absolutely decided initial placement, I have no vote once the tournament begins, and will only be judging in emergency situations." -Josh Rifkind
º	Winners will be published the following day here (on this web site) as well as at Smith's Olde Bar.
º	Maximum 6 performers in a group.
º	Guitars, acoustic and electric, as well as drums and bass, will be provided. We will also provide basic effects pedals.
º	Special instrument requests must be submitted ahead of time so we can plan for their inclusion. We won't have a spare accordian on stage for you. Also, mention alternative tunings or effects that are necessary. Please keep it simple though. Make these requests when you submit your information.
º	Arrive at least one hour before your slot. You'll want to be there earlier to hear the other musicians but you must be ready one hour before you go on.
º	get your submissions in early. Simply fill out the entry form on this web site AND mail a CD or Cassette (2 song minimum) to: Open Mic Madness C/O Josh Rifkind P.O. Box 78908 Atlanta, GA 30357
º	As a musician myself, one aspect of the tournament became very important to me, so here it goes: It is Free to apply and Free when you perform. You can apply now from this site, and then send your stuff by mail shortly thereafter. All performers will be contacted soon after Application/CD is received. Accepted acts will be notified beginning in July. The competition is just one aspect of this event. Bringing an extraordinary number of people that care about original music together is the main goal.
